Ubiquitous...
Here's the story behind the phenomenon of Superman, the most
merchandised
and imitated superhero of them all. Through interviews with the key
creative
talents responsible for seven decades of thrilling Superman adventures,
we'll
follow the Man of Steel's path from Depression-era comic book hero to
George Reeves's TV portrayal in the 50s, Christopher Reeve's movies in
the 70s and 80s, and the TV shows Lois and Clark and Smallville.
There'll
even be a sneak preview of the new film, Superman Returns, to be
released
this summer.

It was very comprehensive, but I found the praising of Christopher Reeves
and Smallville a bit too much to handle and I was rather surprised they
failed to include John Byrne's 1980's reset of Superman.

Yeah. I think, watching all those auditions on the DVD of the Donner
Superman, that Holly Palance gives the best performance, but then she got to
do it over and over and over. I think Warren would have been awful. Archer
might have made it work. But it's hard now to hear anybody read those lines
and not hear Kidder.

ANIM8Rfsk...
Yeah, that was a major mistake. They blamed L&C tanking on the marriage,
when in fact they rushed the marriage because L&C was tanking. I LOVED the
DC guy saying that to this day people in the office want to undo the
marriage as a dream. :-)

Which made Spacey's comment about how Superman has been out of the
mainstream for years all that more ludicrious.

And it still makes me
