Please explain Avril Lavigne's lyric (My Happy Ending)

I just saw this video on MTV. This song is about Avril's boyfriend
breaking up with her. And she's hurt & confused why this happening. And
angry. The part I don't understand is this:

"It's nice to know that you were there - Thanks for acting like you
cared - And making me feel like I was the only one - It's nice to know
we had it all - Thanks for watching as I fall - And letting me know we
were done."

What is Avril doing? THANKing her boyfriend for breaking up with her?
That makes no sense?

Breaking up can be very confusing, especially when you still love the
one who broke up with you.

Or is it supposed to be sarcasm? Thanks for "acting" like you care (but
the boyfriend does not)?

Sarcasm, sadness, anger and even some sense of joy (e.g. relief) can be
bundled all in one after a break-up, so I think the lyrics convey that
pretty well. Not that I'm much of a Lavigne fan though.
