his name covering tawdry, spectacular crime stories in endlessly
excruciating and sordid detail. So he decides this is what MSNBC needed
to get over the hump? They were caught napping on the developing Middle
East war tonight. Also during the afternoon, other, real, news networks
were actually reporting on the breaking scene in Lebanon, israel and
the Middle East. MSNBC meanwhile was busy letting Tucker Carlsen
prattle on and try to be witty and acerbic on various off-issues after
spending a little time on the breaking war story; then they repeat the
same show an hour or so later! Pretty sad that this is Abrams' master
plan. MSNBC has dropped the ball even more than they generally do.

It's summer -- IMO, Abrams is deliberately doing the auto-pilot thing
with the documentaries because the viewership nationwide is on summer
vacation. I think we'll see the rollout of more timely news programs
and talk shows when the fall season starts, as that's the time that
even the news channels roll out most of their new programming for the
year. So IMO, such doomsaying is premature at the present time.
