RichA...
Wide eyed, fumbling, comically-geeky, comic book reading, white-shirt
wearing clowns?

David Johnston...
I don't believe that's an accurate description of Suresh.

RichA...
Sorry, if I'd said Oriental Asians, some P.C. goon would have objected.

David Johnston...
Or you could have just used the right word. "Japanese".

RichA...
Odd isn't it? I can use the term, "whites" and it is acceptable and
means anyone from North America to parts of Asia where whites live.
But if I called the Japanese "yellows"........

Kevrob...
Hey, I'll answer to "ice people", "blue-eyed devil", gaijin, gweilo,
etc.

The idea that Hiro is a buffoonish stereotype is dispelled by the
obvious competence and intelligence of "future Hiro." "Present Hiro"
is just as smart, just not as experienced, and suffering from several
kinds of shock - cultural, geographical and temporal.

RichA...
You mean his demeanor was different in Japan before his
self-revelation? I doubt it.

Kevrob...
We meet Hiro just when the various Heroes' powers are awakening in
them. It seems to unsettle several of them, notably Hiro and Peter
Petrelli. Perhaps Hiro was a bit more calm before the stress of his
"origin" and who knows how long working in the cube farm inspired him
to bust loose.

Also, I probably wouldn't describe it as buffoonish anyway.

Kevrob...
Buffoon, clown. To-may-to, to-mah-to. :)

The important thing is that present Hiro grows into Future Hiro, who is
just plain kewl!

Also, he's only nine years old.

Well, that's how he acts most of the time anyway.

Reminiscent of the now highly discouraged image of Blacks in movies and
TV as panicing wide-eyed fools. I'm wondering how long this will work
for "Heroes?"
One thing making it possible, that so many Japanese ARE comic book
reading GEEKS! Only odd thing, when you saw a flash of the sidekick
watching Ally Larter on his PDA, she wasn't wearing a school uniform,
which is what the Japanese "like."
