A couple of weeks ago, his latest CD debuted at #1 on the Billboard
album charts. Last night, one of the American Idol contestants decided
to cover one of his most recognizable hits, 'Copacabana'. Tonight, at
the same time said contestant was being eliminated on AI, Dancing with
the Stars' season two highlights were punctuated by a clip of... Barry
Manilow singing the momentarily ubiquitous 'Copacabana'. Soon,
thereafter, it was sung again on AI as the swan song of the departing
contestant in question.

Yes, it's 2006 and it's a Barry Manilow world.
