I totally agree with the #1 choice. Doesn't the problem have to do with
licensing all the music that the show uses?

That's the problem with a number of the shows. The Daria episodes that
did make it to DVD had all the non-original music stripped, with
nothing replacing them (so characters turn off a silent radio, for
example)
