`Survivor' given two more editions
New cycles to be aired next season
By JOSEF ADALIAN

"Survivor" will live to see its sweet 16.

CBS is expected to announce later today that it has given thumbs up to
two more editions of the Mark Burnett reality warhorse. The 15th and
16th editions of the franchise will air during the 2007-08 season.

Burnett and Tom Shelly remain as exec producers, with Jeff Probst on
board as host. The 14th cycle of the skein is set to bow next month.

Despite suffering some ratings erosion, "Survivor" -- the
longest-running reality hit on broadcast TV--- remains a potent player
for the Eye. Most recent installment of the franchise, "Survivor: Cook
Islands," won its 8 p.m. Thursday timeslot in all key demos and
viewers, despite increasingly tough competish from ABC and NBC.

Skein averaged a 5.5/15 in adults 18-49, with an overall aud of 15.8
million viewers.

Nancy2...
I think it's become very boring, actually. I didn't watch any of last
season, except the finale.

Tommy Tutone...
I'm still a huge fan. It's not what it used to be but it's still a great
show IMO.

Macjoubert...
Its on its last legs now.Quality and thrill /suspense factor is rapidly
declining.

Elmo P. Shagnasty...
Not to mention: they have fallen into the trap of signing the same
types of people over and over again. That in itself is "scripting" the
show.

It seems to be more and more "scripted" every season nowadays.
