With Invasion cancelled does that improve odds for Surface?

With ABC and earlier CBS cancellling their freshman SF shows that leaves
only
Surface. With Lost the only network SF show has the odds improved for
Surface?

No. Quite the reverse.

It has nothing to do with it, one way or the other.

NBC was influenced to try a sci-fi show because of the success of Lost
from the previous season and because of the success of science-fiction
movies. (Surface is a blatant attempt to imitate some Spielberg movies.)

And there's no reason to believe that viewers of Invasion would now
watch Surface instead. They're not even broadcast on the same day.

The news anyways is due out in May has it been released or is NBC still
deciding.

I hope its back for another 13 episodes - which I kind of like - tell
one story like a trilogy. ie first season book 1, season 2 book 2 etc.

I think NBC picking up Heroes and Raines pretty much dooms Surface. With
Medium that's two supernatural series and a sci-fi one. I don't see NBC
having more sci-fi/supernatural stuff than those three.
