Kate would pick Sawyer. He knows who she is, and he's not going to

My thinking is that, like the Locke flashback sequence a couple of
episodes ago, this particular part of Kate's life will get a second
look somewhere later on down the line. Not that it'll make the next
appearance of Fillion's character any LESS "superficial," but I'm just
saying... :-)
RWG (I think the producers are making an effort to run the "flashbacks"
of each character in a more sequential order now)

all of the storylines to be left dangling. By February, I'm going to
need a recap episode just to remember this episode.

time, I'll bet they won't schedule it at 9 PM; they learned their
Nielsen lesson)

Don't worry, I'm sure they'll have more than ample recapping before
it all starts again, indeed that was likely planned right from
the moment that they planned the break.
One does wonder if Coyote will narrate again.

Good episode, not the best. And not quite good enough for a Block 3.1
finale that's supposed to tie us over till February.
Lots of cool action (including some yummy action from Kate).
But Kate's flashback was another one of those that came out of nowhere
and went nowhere.
