weberm...
Four and a half stars. Wow!

So why didn't Hiro have his English-speaking friend make the call to
Isaac in NYC?

Lizard...
Because the comic book didn't tell him to.

Arthur Lipscomb...
The guy writing the comic is the same guy who can see the future right? I'm
assuming he hasn't seen any visions of himself and Hiro or any visions of
Hiro explicitly trying to contact him specifically. If he had he would have
realized who was on the other end of the phone. Plus since he's writing the
comic in English yet doesn't understand Japanese he might not even realize
the guy in his comics and the guy on the phone are the same person because
in his mind the guy in his visions speaks English.

suzee...
His friend didn't believe him at that point.

~consul...
Didn't think he was english speaking. They had a japanese speaking cop translate.

edrhodes...
No, when in custody, he said; "If you let me call my English speaking
friend, he will clear this matter up."

Does Skyler has ALL our heroes' powers (he regereated and flew away)?

As much as I like Peter, he annoys me. Yes, you can fly, but quit
bugging your brother about it when other people are around.

suzee...
And at a political gathering, no less. Discretion isn't one of his
strong points.

~consul...
"Shut up shut up shut up shut up!!!!!"

edrhodes...
My daughter came up with the idea that they can only fly

I guess the cat is out of the bag for Claire.

Jack Bohn...
Yeah. It appears the other cheerleader will not get in major
trouble from her claim to fame.

All week I've been working on a joke, (If you cut open Claire's
skull and eat her brains, _and she finds out about it later_..!)

suzee...
It'll be interesting to see how she explains this one.

Jonathan Roberts...
I'll give that a 4.3. The plot thickens. Still a three-ring circus but
it seems to work for them.

pv+usenet...
3.75. This show just keeps surprising me. *

5 stars (Phillips & Moffitt)

0-1 stars (Zedong & Xiaoping)

A nice, solid, 'move everyone forward one space' piece. I think if the
show has a structural weakness, it's that it works on everyone's story
at once, as opposed to Lost's style of focusing on one or two
characters for a bit.

So...this Syler dude. Can apparently teleport or otherwise travel very
fast (fast enough to get back to NYC to clean out his apartment), is

BreadWithSpam...
Forget the traveling. I was impressed at the speed of the
cleaning. Think I can have him at my place every other week?

SuperCleaningMan! Da da da dum! Scrub scrub it away!

invulnerable or regenerates, and can sneak past a few hundred FBI
agents. Also, if one assumes the 'blank mind' in the bar was Syler, he

At first, I was thinking that maybe he removed the brains of heroes,
and ate them to absorb their power. If that's the case, then the
various powers might not be unique to each individual.

can block his thoughts. Anyone (everyone?) else notice the necklace?

BreadWithSpam...
Yah. It's everywhere, though. Claire had it on the edges of
the pages of her textbook. It was on the cover of the Indian's
superpowers textbook. It was all over Skylar's walls. It's
everywhere.

Going to be interesting to see Claire explain this one. And who

BreadWithSpam...
We still don't know that that's actually a police autopsy.
She could have been grabbed up by someone who won't actually
need an explanation. As far as asshole football player, he's
certain to not want to ever talk about the incident again in
any way shape or form.

removed the piece of wood from her neck? Can she be 'staked'

jayembee...
At first, I thought it must've been the coroner, but why would he
disappear right afterward? I suspect it was Dear Old Dad, and he
left so that she wouldn't know that he knows about her.

indefinitely, unable to regenerate until the damaging object is

That's my guess.

removed?

Do not trust Apu Xavier's girlfriend AT ALL.

jayembee...
That's been my thought she first appeared. Wouldn't it be a gas
if *she* turned out to be Syler?

BreadWithSpam...
But she is awfully cute. Consider me hypnotized enough to
trust her.

I am thinking, though, that evil-dad is probably not actually
evil.

Hiro r00lz! At least one person on this show knows what to do if you
suddenly find you have super powers -- you go out and Do Good Deeds.
Or, in Hiro's case, you do whatever the comic book tells you to do. Or
that you did. Or something.

BreadWithSpam...
The business about the comic book is weird. So he brought it
back in time with him from his visit to the future. Um, okay.
But are new pages being added constantly? By whom and how?
And if not, are all those pages already there? I know, just
go with it. But it is a little annoying.

Glad the show was picked up for a full season. Looking forward to
seeing this story arc play out.

ravenlynne...
5 stars. This show is just great...and that ending! But my question

jayembee...
I wasn't terribly impressed by the pilot, but it does seem to be
improving with each episode. At the very least, it does seem to
have a goal in mind and is moving toward it.

is: Even though the cheerleader has these amazing abilities to heal,
wouldn't she still feel pain? Shouldn't she be screaming since her

Lizard...
When she stuck her hand in the trash compacter, she didn't seem to
realize it until she pulled it out and saw it was mangled. She seems
more annoyed by gross bodily injury than agonized.

jayembee...
It seems pretty evident from her previous "tests" that she doesn't
feel pain.

body has been opened up for an autopsy? And also, wouldn't her healing

Not if she doesn't feel pain.

powers have just pushed out the whateveritis that was stuck in her neck?

jayembee...
Why? As I mentioned in another thread, I suspect that the center
of her power is in the brain. As long as the stick was in her
brain, it provided a continuous trauma that kept her body from
regenerating. Note that she only started healing once the stick
was removed from her head.

edrhodes...
While her hand "regenerated," she did have to push her shoulder and
ribs back in. It's iffy. I guess the internal organs will regenerate,
hopefully the ones removed don't grow "new" claires!

I GOT A NAME FOR HER: "STARFISH GIRL"

This show is the new 'Lost' for me. I can't wait to see what's next.

BreadWithSpam...
I've been thinking that. I've gotten pretty tired of Lost
looking like it's not going anywhere. I'm still watching it,
hoping that it'll actually start to take a long-view coherent
shape. And the acting and characters are generally interesting
and the scenery is gorgeous. But the long story looks like it's
off the rails to me.

Heroes - well, here's hoping that the long story is more
fleshed out and has an actual place it's going. But in the
meantime, while it's kind of haphazard (bouncing around
between characters a bit much, for example), I hope it'll
start taking a little more time with individuals. Perhaps,
even, a la Lost - focussing on a single character or two
with a bunch of nice, detailed flashbacks in an episode.
But they have to give us more of the current situation
first, I suppose.

I found it hard to watch because it was so depressing. It's
entertaining, though.
