The story's here.
Darn, I was hoping for Belo to put it on KTVK instead.

Oh, sure - tell *Fred* about it first, but not me!
Hrmph!!

For those keeping score at home, Minneapolis-St. Paul is the only Top 20
market left that CW hasn't signed an affiliate agreement for. The likely
Tony Calguire...

Tell me about it! I was just gonna ask about this, because I suspected
the Twin Cities was being left behind, but man!... the only top 20
market?
|
candidate there would seem to be KMWB(23) the current WB affiliate, but
KMWB is owned by Sinclair Broadcasting Group, which thus far has not signed
any of its stations to a CW affiliation agreement, and have signed 9 of its
16 WB affiliates with MyNetwork (as well as all 6 of its UPN affiliates).
Tony Calguire...
|
For God's sake, Sinclair, take the canoli! There aren't enough judge
shows in the world to fill up the holes in the schedule that would come
with independence.
|
If it doesn't go with CW, it would have to go independent, because the UPN
affiliate is part of the Fox Station Group, so it will be the MyNetwork
affiliate for the Twin Cities. The other option would be KSTC(45), the
only current independent in the market.
Tony Calguire...
|
KSTC-45 is a bad fit. For one thing, they've spent the last few years
girding themselves for independence by loading up on sports...
Timberwolves, Wild, and all the high school tournaments. In addition,
they're the duopoly station with KSTP, and they're very much
complementary to KSTP... they'll carry special news reports and
pre-empted ABC programming.
No, KMWB really is the only choice.

Isn't Boston reversed? WBSK is the current WB affiliate.
Rob Jensen...
|
No. WBSK is the UPN affiliate. On my Superstations package with
Dish, I currently have three WB affiliates: WPIX, KWGN and KTLA and
two UPN affiliates: WWOR and WBSK.

OK thanks for the correction. Too many call letters coupled with too many
Friday PM drinks makes Laddy looney.

Taylor...
|
Nope. "UPN38" now known as "UPN Boston".

You realize, of course, that I'm probably just going to steal this table
