Jude Cormier...
So much for DirecTV claiming they were gonna drop it as of March 1st.
Wonder if a new agreement was reached or such. I did notice after I came
home from the late shift, that the channel was playing an old movie,
although it may have been from the digital PAX feed as the PAX logo was in
the left corner, while the i logo was in the right. Still it beat seeing
another infomercial!

akjack...
If PAX and DirecTV cannot reach agreement on carriage terms, the PAX
channels will be gone at the end of this month.

akjack...
The DirecTV/Pax/i carriage dispute may have been resolved.

In the San Francisco DMA, DirecTV is mirroring local channel 65
on channel 255. The program guide listings are identical.
When looking at program information for a channel 255 program,
the time/channel detail indicates channel 65.

I'd like to know whether those who previously didn't receive
a local PAX affiliate from DirecTV can receive channel 255.

Jude Cormier...
Channel 255 has always been PAX/i here on my system.

akjack...
That's the case for every DirecTV subscriber. I wanted
to know whether channel 255 is still available to those
who live in a DMA that didn't have an Pax affiliate included
in the local channels group from DirecTV.

Jude Cormier...
We never had a Pax affiliate in my market--well, one that you could catch
over the air.

Channel 255 programming was 3 hours offset from the
local PAX channel for those of us in the Western time zone.

DirecTV distinguishes 65 and 255 by name. Channel 255 is i
and channel 65 is PAX TV in the San Francisco local market.

I can receive channel 65 on my TV using a UHF antenna.
At this moment an infomercial is running for a bay area
car dealer on OTA channel 65. DirecTV has dropped the SF
PAX station and replaced it with the national feed of channel 255.

David Levy...
In the New York City DMA, DirecTV is still carrying separate local and
national feeds. At the moment, WPXN 31 is airing a different
infomercial than what appears on channel 255.

akjack...
Entering a NYC zip code on the DirecTV local channels listing
page shows channel 31 and 891 for WPXN.
When you enter a Los Angeles or San Francisco zipcode
you see i listed as a two digit local channel number and channel
255 for older receivers. Try zipcodes 91344 and 94101 here:

With Kansas City, Mo zipcode 64108 we also see 255 as the local
channel number for i on older receivers.

Apparently the two digit channel number is a logical remap
of channel 255 in a number of local markets where DirecTV
is no longer providing a local Pax/i affiliate.

akjack...
Did you try web-search? If that is too difficult, here is a link...

Jude Cormier...
You don't have to be snide.

You stated something and I simply asked where was the source you got your
information

Quiz question:
What percentage of "Paxson households" watch via DirecTV?

Patrick Joseph McNamara...
It's also possible that the channel carrying i/PAX is negotiating to become
either one of the new CW channels or one of the MyNetwork channels.
