Internet overtakes TV in Britain

The British now spend more time on the Internet than watching
television, according to a survey published by Internet search engine
web-search.

The report showed that British Internet users spend an average of 164
minutes online daily -- the equivalent of 41 days a year -- compared to
148 minutes watching television.

That's it??? Only 2 1/2 hour a day??? Wow.

I wonder how much TV the typical american spends? 7-8 hours a day?

The surveys I had seen said it was nearly 4 hours a day. But I'll bet
the Internet is now starting to cut into that as well.

Men spend on average 172 minutes on the web daily, and women 156 minutes.

Londoners and Scots are the most dedicated net users, according to the
survey, carried out by the TNS institute last month involving 1,030
adults aged 16 to 64.

The wave of the future, very likely in America too.
The TV networks have got to either embrace the Internet, as the show
"Lost" is attempting to do--or get left by the wayside.
