Boy, it didn't take long for all 4 ethnic groups were merged into 2. So
why the quick change? In any event, they all seemed rather pleased in
the merger.

The tiny tribes don't work for long; once a tribe has lost a couple
members the others have to leave out an equal number at challenges and
pretty soon only half the people are playing.

That wasn't a problem on Season 10. The Ulong tribe continued to
dwindle as more and more of its members got voted off. And the dominant
Koror tribe had to sit out more and more of its members in the
Challenges. So what.
In fact, it got to the point that they were close to violating the
Survivor game rule that you can't sit out the same player twice in two
successive Challenges. Once Ulong had only half as many players left as
Koror, it became mathematically impossible for Koror to obey that rule
anymore.

Survivor has found that the best way to prevent long term alliances is to
shuffle the player's tribe affiliations early. Unfortunately, this has
resulted in players that simply stick to their second tribe affiliation
rather than their first. Hopefully, this season (since it has 2 extra
players) can do a third swap of players before everyone gets too settled.

I'd love to see them swap every 3 days. That'll screw em up.
