I knew Gale was a weasel!

I'll give it a 3.5. The way the broadcasts are broken up I'm having a
hard time keeping with the thread of the story ... or stories, or
whatever.

I'll give it a 3.5
-First flashback that covers events after the crash
-Did Locke and Jack switch roles?! I thought in the last episode they
had complete opposite opinions on whether or not to keep Henry locked
up
-The three female leads had no chemistry
-The Eco/Henry scene was a waste
-Always exciting to see a new Dharma facility but
-Always frustrating to see characters' non-reaction to finding a
bunker. I would hhve been opening that escape hatch if I was there!

Just a guess, but I think the "escape" hatch hallway probably led to
one similar to the one Locke and company blew up last season...
RWG (provided the ladder was still there, you'd still have to dig your
way out :-)
|
-The theatrical glue sheds new light on the nature of the Others...and
leaves me confused as to what the heck's going on?

Always like Danielle in more scenes. Glad the scratches got explained in
detail. Also liked Kate's interaction with Sawyer, Gale's mental
sparring, Locke getting played, Eko's figuring things out and the
ambiguity of his interaction with Gale, and the new clues from the
flashbacks and what they saw in the hatch.
Didn't like Claire's acting (a bit over the top, even for a distraught
mom) and the lack of info passed between characters. Why isn't anyone

Are you kidding? There is no such thing as over the top for a
distraught mother, especially one with a baby.

getting more info about the "sickness" from Danielle? Is Kate going to
tell anyone what she found? Why is it so important no one knows about
Gale? Is Claire going to tell anyone what she now remembers about the
Others? It's not like folks on the island have anything better to do.

Was higher until the end but I don't buy Locke being manipulated by
the oldest trick in the book.
Asterbark...

Locke is extremely! pliable like that. Don't you watch his back stories?
His life on the island is his fantasy, it's a facade. Reality sets in, I
told you already. I don't think he believed he and Jack really do work
together, and don't forget last week when Jack was going to let the timer
run out unless Locke gave him the combo to the gun room.
Then again, I thought it was a really weird episode and reminded me of a
video game, where they reach a level and travel to a zone and gain an
item. That girl from the bunker who helped Claire escape, was that the
girl Cynthia from Malcolm in the Middle? (when he was still in Krelboyne

Was she also the gal in the pizza commercial run during
"Lost"? The ad with the chick sitting in the office cubicle
making fun of the guy next to her?

No. Different actress. Alex (the girl we saw tonite) is played by
Tania Raymonde, who was just cast very recently. (I remember the
casting call as a spoiler)

Hey, you have got a very good eye. Yes, you are right, that was
'Cynthia' from Malcolm In The Middle. The actress's name is Tania
Raymonde.

I just realized that she was the girl from "Children on Their
Birthdays," a film based on a Truman Capote story.

Asterbark...
|
She's very distinctive and I thought she looked familiar. They kept
flashing that one part and I knew I would figure out where I'd seen her
before the end of the episode. I like her, well I liked her on Malcolm.

|
What was her character like on the show? I don't watch the show
regularly, and only recall a handful of characters. The mom, the eskimo
wife of the former military kid cum hotelier, and the girl who came back
one season with big gazongas.
Asterbark...
|
The girl who came back with the gazongas. You know, she was a little
weird, I really liked her. She reminded me of that girl on the Wonder
Years who liked bats and wore 3 braids, Margaret Farquhar. Beside the
point, but it makes me wonder what ever happened to Blossom. She went to
college and then what.

|
Hmmm seeing her on LOST now, did they pad her out for the MitM show? Or
is it just that her height caught up to her ... depth?
Asterbark...
|
I didn't get a good look at her chest, and probably wouldn't have
noticed if there were a good shot of it. Her personality and
recognizability are all in her face and voice, unless you're some sort
of pervy dude who can tell a bunch of headless chicks apart by their
bosoms. Maybe she had them reduced like Punky Brewster, why don't you
see if you can find an article.

Eko pulling out the knife and turning it toward his neck and cutting off
his little beard made me laugh. I doubt that was the intended response,
it just was corny.
(I don't rate episodes though, sorry. It was "good enough").

Unimpressive. Caring even less and less about them all. The show is
distancing the characters from the audience, with no heroes, and no one
to root for. I feel no emotional connection to any of them.
rwgibson13...
|
I gave up on Battlestar Galactica for exactly that reason. And while I
have a fairly good idea why the producers are having these characters
take giant steps backwards, I'm not sure if they understand that they
may be biting themselves in the ass by doing it.
RWG (seems more they get into the "mythos," the less interesting the
characters get)
|
BTW, was teenage girl played by the girl from Malcolm In The Middle
that had a crush on Malcolm but which Reese went after later when she
developed early?

4.5 stars. Just chock full of goodness adding to the "Lost" mythology. And
lots of close-ups of Emilie de Ravin's face don't hurt.
