I gave read that it is SNL policy to make the season opener the first
repeat if it got a good rating number. I don't know if it made the
grade, but it made the cut.

if not, the canadian affiliate must have screwed up and, if so, who hosted
this week's new snl in the u.s.?

SNL only does 20 new episodes a season that's why there are so many
repeats and compilation shows.

No screwup.

I expect they ran a repeat so early in the season because they expected
to lose viewers to baseball, especially in the markets that follow the
Mets and the Cardinals.
