Mariska Hargitay's Failing Career

Why didn't Mariska Hargitay appear in tonight's new episode of Special
Victims Unit broadcast on NBC ? You couldn't even see her for three
seconds in deep background.

From everything I've read she makes the show. I'm one of the rare people
who like to watch Ice T's horrible acting and the other paranoid cop. But I
understand why people like her. She's a good actress.

"to make out with Chris before she leaves".

As was stated before a weekly series is very demanding on the actors,
especially when they have major parts in all of them as happened in L & O
CI. It's obvious that they are trying to split the acting up so they get a

Another reason why I don't see Hargitay staying beyond S8. They work
14/16 hrs a day and sometimes on Sat. That's a lot to handle with a
kid.

more than 1 show at a time.

They've mostly been alternating Benson-episodes with Stabler-episodes
since about the middle of last season. Read into that what you will.

Presumably for the same reason we've seen episodes in which Stabler
wasn't there. Perhaps to give the leads more vacation time.

Contrary to the subject line Hargitay's career is far from failing. She
just won the Golden Globe last year and probably has more awards in her
future, and she's a huge part of the show's draw.

I think she is the main Det. in next weeks show.

I haven't been watching new episodes in a while, so I hadn't noticed
the alternating leads. Stabler did encounter Benson briefly in the
station last night.

I assumed that Benson was absent since she's pregnant. Maybe she wanted
some time to get Tom Cruise to do her ultrasound.

That was a good episode. I liked that Tamara Tunie got some juice and
not just a couple of lines in the mourge. I'm also chagrin to admit I
didn't see her last second "save" of the bank robber coming, I had
forgotten she had the gun. He was lucky she shot him in the leg as the
snipers were aiming for the head & heart no doubt.
