THis weekend my friends and I were talking about Andrew Dice Clay, and
I seemed to remember before he became the "Dice-man", that he played
kind a similar macho character on several episodes of "One Day at a
Time" as a young guy who liked Valerie Bertinelli, but whom Valerie had
no interest. Does anyone remember this, I looked on imdb.com, but
Andrew Dice Clay does not have a credit listing for One Day at a Time,
and neither does his alter Ego Andrew Silverstein. Please help!

I'm pretty sure he character you're think of was "Bob Morton", who was
played by John Putch.

I haven't seen the show in over 15 years! I wish W Network would spin it
again (WNetwork.com).

About 20 or more for me....strange that TV Land (US) hasn't aired it, since
it has ran most of Norman Lear's sitcoms.

or even Lifetime "television for women"--you think this one would be a

I *was* going to say, if he had a bit part w/ no words spoken, then he
COULD have been and of course not credited. Then again, the IMDb can
really suck when it comes to listing acting credits. There's a bunch of
Canadian sitcoms actors have ping-ponged doing guest appearances and
they aren't listed. Then again, they're Canadian sitcoms, so who really
cares to list them accurately. It sounds like the Dice man would have
had a big part in that episode and listed. I could suggest TV.com, but
to go through EVERY episode would be a chore! Perhaps it wasn't him.
