Any chance of a Buffy/Angel spin-off or new DVD episodes?

For a few years there has been talk of a Spike movie or spin-off I
gather this is not going to happen.

But with the new fad of tv shows continuing on DVD like SG-1 and B5 - I
think B5 will just be stories set on B5 not the original cast. Why not
do the same with Buffy or Angel?

I would love to see Spike the DVD series. Or a few new episodes focusing
on Xander and Anya. Or a slayer tales like DVD series. I would think a
Buffy/Angel-verse DVD series of all shows out there these would do very
well.

I believe Buffy DVDs have always been excellent sellers so I would
suspect continuing it on DVD would be profitable.
Sadly SMG and Alison Hennigan would probably not do it but Whedon did
set up a universe where spin-offs and tales are very doable. Also some
like the Spike stories could be more adult without fear of censors.

If the B5 new episodes are popular Buffy needs to be the next series
done this way.

I was not aware that B5 or SG-1 were continueing on dvd. B5 lasted 5
seasons, plus the between season movies. The only extra I'm aware of is the
failed sequel The Tales Of The Rangers or something like that.
As for SG-1, that's still going, now in it's tenth and final season.

B5's direct-to-DVD movie (I forget the title) has already finished
filming and is in post-production right now. SG-1's 10th and final
season will finish with a cliffhanger that leads into the first of two
direct-to-DVD movies. The first one, of course, will conclude the Ori
storyline, the second one is supposed to have time-travel involved.

Joss tried to get a Spike movie-of-the-week, then a trilogy of
direct-to-DVD movies, the first of which being that Spike MOTW, off
the ground, but FOX Studio balked, reportedly over budget
considerations that Fox didn't have any business freaking out about
(as any original Buffverse movie would likely make its money back and
more). Since he can't get the movies off the ground, Joss had decided
to revive the Buffy comic series at Dark Horse with a canon "Season
8," writing the first four issues himself with art by Georges Jeanty
(various mutant books at Marvel), the last four issues around two
years down the line and various arcs and issues in-between will be
written by various writers from the TV series -- Jane Espenson, in
particular. Joss is also using his clout to, like, borrow Angel and
Spike from comics licensor IDW on a whenever-Joss-feels-like-it basis.

Highlandish...
there was a UK buff fan magazine (still apparently going) sold monthly
that included a Buffy comic with all the beloved characters, however
sourcing each issue was a problem and I never got complete stories.

does anyone know if they come in a compilation sold separately?
