I gave up even trying to fathom what the hell's going on with the judging.
Their criteria seems to be some vague melding of variety, political
correctness and whim. Who knows what directives they've been given from on
high. The Rappin' Granny? Gimme a break. Mildly cute act, but enough's
enough, she should have been gone.

Bianca. It probably will, but if it doesn't, they're to blame for not

Yeah, I figure Simon Cowell can always give her a recording contract,
even if she doesn't win AGT.

choosing the one that they have said themselves is the best one in the
competition.

Hate to say it, but is granny the only African American that's been
chosen so far? (I haven't been watching the results shows). I'm
thinking maybe they're trying for a little diversity. She certainly
doesn't deserve to be put through "in this stage of the competition."
Choosing her over the magician that completely "blew them away" just
doesn't make sense.

Plenty of irony in Brandy to accusing Piers of not being able to sing. She
has the distinction of being one of the few pop stars with even less vocal
ability than Britney Spears.

My personal favorite is that girl Bianca Ryan. They all whined about her
song choice tonight, and true it might not have been the best song to
showcase her voice, but I thought she demonstrated an ability to go in
different directions. She'd make a helluva session singer. At 11 she'd put
most of the American Idol contestants to shame. Thought Piers was full of it
saying she "nearly blew it", though I too cringe at the screamed high notes,
concerned she's going to damage something. That other girl Caitlin Love
wasn't bad, but IMO not nearly as impressive at Bianca.

Hey Brandy, let's hear you take a crack at "Another Little Piece Of My
Heart".

And the director has to die. A stilt act, and he's shooting it all in
close ups???

And on other acts where you need to see them, they're doing room length
shots.

What irked me was the director's timing of judge/crowd reaction shots. A
magician/juggler would be doing a trick. At the moment he'd make a
bird/flame/whatever appear, that's the exact second the director would cut
to the audience. And I'd be sitting there wondering what the audience is
going "Wow!" about. I didn't tune in to watch the audience.
