Nonsense. I work on a contract basis. If when the one year agreement
is over, my employer decides not to renew, that does NOT mean I was
fired.
Stop trying to twist words. This is not "1984".

And meanwhile Baba and company were telling the media Star was welcome

Star feels fired by ‘View’
“The View” chatterbox Star Jones Reynolds is leaving the daytime
talkfest, and she says it’s not by choice.
“What you don’t know is that my contract was not renewed for the 10th
season. I feel like I was fired,” Jones tells People magazine.

Yet I heard that "The View" actually gave Elisabeth Hasselbeck a
permanent position (contract for the entire "life" of the show). Which
makes sense; she's done such a poor job that if her contract needed to
be renewed yearly, she would have been fired by now too.
I wonder why Star Jones got only a yearly contract while Elisabeth
managed to get herself a permanent contract.

That's because it doesn't exist. The only way you can get such a
contract is if you own the show which isn't the case here. I think
it's safe to say that Steven just doesn't like Elisabeth for some
reason.

alienated herself from viewers with her behavior since the weight loss.
