Is "Lost" getting the boot after spring 2007?

PorchMonkey4Life...
When I look on IMDB for the show "Lost" I see end dates (e.g.,
2004-2007) for the supposed 'main characters'.

Matt fox, Naveen, Evangline, ..., etc. It's as if they are planning for
the show's termination soon.

If so, I'd say they did it a season and a half too late.

Imdb is fan edited. Anyone could have put that in.

jayembee...
Not really. Fans and submit errata and addenda to the IMDb, but
someone on the IMDb staff has to confirm the data before they will
make the update. For example, I submitted a correction on the title
of a British TV production about a year ago, and it took them months
to finally change the entry.

Gosh, they need to fire their fact checking staff and start over then.
There's a lot of wrong info on imdb

jayembee...
It wasn't always that way (them confirming data before making a
change). For a good long while, I believe they *were* letting
registered users make data changes, and haven't managed to correct
a lot of the misinformation that resulted.

They probably changed their policy to the current one after some
back and forth changes regarding whether Helen Slater was related
to Christian Slater.

Add to that....in reference to the dates...they do that format for other
shows too. For example, they have Olmos listed as 2004-2006 for BSG. We
know that it's not correct and will likely be updated as time goes on.
Though it's a massive waste of time on their part. What they should be
putting in is 2004-present.

David...
I'm amazed by how something like the imdb and wikipedia come together.
Even with the mistakes it's impressive that millions of people would
take the time to share their knowledge, especially now that the imdb
has a separate page for each episode. Who are these people??

Garondo Marondo...
I am. I am those people.

David...
I should've guessed that.

(Though now I'm creeped out by thoughts of millions and millions of
Garondos Marondos)

I don't think it's correct to pluralize both names. It should either be
Garondos Marondo (like Attorneys General) or Garondo Marondos.

David...
Nothing about Garondo Marondo makes sense or adheres to the rules of
civilized society.

In the case of Wikipedia, I'm one of those people. I've edited a number
of Wikipedia entries. (In fact, I edited one on the Space Shuttle
earlier this evening.) I've also edited Star Trek entries at the Memory
Alpha wiki too.

A year ago, an independent survey compared Wikipedia to the Encyclopedia
Britannica. They found that both contained errors; Wikipedia had about
15% more errors than Britannica, but given its vast size, that isn't
very significant.

I embellished the Wikipedia entry on SORAS (Soap Opera Rapid Aging
Syndrome). My edits have withstood the test of time. My mother is very
proud.
