Anyone watch?
Kind of a combo of 'Summerland' and 'Summer Girls'
Predictable storyline, but the acting is pretty good.
Regular time slot - Mondays @ 9pm Eastern on ABC Family

I'll probably continue to watch it but I wasn't all that impressed. I
watched Beyond the Break on The-N Friday night and I think even with cheaper
production values it might have better promise. It's hard to tell from one
episode. I like the characters better so far in BTB. I really dislike the
model returned home character, Tanya, I think. Where was this Canadian show
filmed?

In Manitoba, where there are two big summer lake hangouts. Falcon Lake,
in the SE corner of the province, just a few miles from the Ont border.
And Grand Beach, on Lake Winnipeg, about an hour north of Winnipeg.
Hence, Falcon Beach.

Did they specify in the show that it was Manitoba? I can't remember,
though I had that impression. But it always seemed odd that there
were a couple of references to Montreal, as if it was just a few
hours down the road.

Thanks for the info. I pass through Manitoba fairly often but on the way to
other places.

This aired in Canada during the winter.
For a Canadian show that doesn't have the word "Degrassi" in the title, I
rather liked it.
They have apparently Americanized the show for ABC Family so instead of
calling it University, they call it College, instead of beings set in
Manitoba, it's set in New England, etc.

Were certain scenes simply re-shot for use here in the States, or is
this an American-made version of the Canadian series?

I listened to a program on CBC that talked about the show being
"Americanized," and IIRC, they did reshoots at the time of shooting if
anything said referenced the Canadian version of the show.

Of course, here in Canada we saw it back in the winter. I watched
every episode, even though Global kept moving it around (at least
partly to make way for US programs).
It was kind of odd at first, because the friend of the main character
played the kid who brought a gun and started shooting on Degrassi
the next generation, which started him as an unlikeable character
in my mind. I kept wondering whether the shooting was a way of letting
him off the show so he could do this one. But, he becomes more likeable
as time goes on, and actually, he and the women he gets involved in
become more likeable than the main triangle.
It's now been a couple of months since the last episode aired, and that's
now long enough that my memory of the show has faded.
