I'm not talking about the Saturday recap episode. There are episodes during
the week which only play clips without narration for the first episode until
the current.

It deserved to be canceled, but not pulled. 3% is a decent rating for
a Saturday night show, and NBC should have finished showing the
13-episode story.

I think in the future, viewers should refuse to watch any new serial
unless the network *guarantees* publicly that they will broadcast a
finale episode to wrap up, no matter how poor the ratings may be.
Now that Lost has experimented with a no-rerun season, other serials are
starting to do the same: For its serials "Desire" and "Fashion House,"
MyNetwork touts "NO REPEATS!!" in its promos.
I think that for future serials, the networks had better start touting
"GUARANTEED FINALE!!" or I won't watch them.

They even could have done a back-to-back deal, where they show 2 or 3
episodes all at once (like FOX often does with 24), and that way allow
each episode to build upon the last one, and more quickly burn-off the
show.
It should have stayed.
NBC should have kept their promise to finish the story.
