Taylor Hicks reminds me of a young Kenny Rogers. For more detailed

He reminds me of Steve Martin when he dances. Voice wise, Michael
McDonald.

Is he (McDonald) the guy featured on all the Verizon commercials? I
might not mind him, except for all the overexposure. He has a good
voice, but all his vocal tricks (the term is "melisma", I believe) end
up sounding the same, and it gets old... Plus, I remember a commercial
where they were plugging his music at the same time as whatever current
Verizon service there was. Fine, but for a while, it seemed like it was
on during *every single commercial break*... Now, his voice just
grates...

I'm not sure about the Verizon commercials, but he was the soulful
voice behind The Doobie Brothers in the 70's.

Here's some samples of The Doobie Brothers music from back then:
Listen especially to Minute By Minute and It Keeps You Running.

Pepsi, a big DB fan back then.
