For Paul "Wix" Wickens Fans....

I just bought the new David Gilmour CD "On An Island" at Best Buy.
There's a Best Buy exclusive 2nd CD which comes with it called "Island
Jam" and which has Wix playing keyboards on it.

Once again Spleen boy shows how an alleged adult turns out when he's
had virtually no parental guidance and little or no parental attention
paid to him. Not knowing who his father was must have been tough. Now
he's looking for it from me. It's nice that he wants me to be his
daddy, but I could never care for a mutant. I guess that by responding
to him here, I'm giving him the attention that he so obviously craves.
However, this is the end of it.

Sorry Spleen boy, but you'll have to find your daddy figure in someone
else.

Did you notice that anyone in McCartney's band and crew whose first name is
"Paul" gets a nickname? There can be only one Paul.

I think that Wix was Wix before he joined Paul circa 1987 or '88.

He's not. I'm going to see David twice at Radio City in April. Rick
Wright is playing keyboards with him.

The funny thing is that Roger Waters is playing Dark Side of The Moon
in Europe and has Nick Mason playing with him.

I guess we can say that Pink Floyd is finally touring again albeit in
two halves!!

Wix always seems so humble onstage and off. Anyone that would let Paul
McCartney lock him in a bathroom until he got his notes right has to be a
good-natured guy.

Franz Schubert was forced to compose by his friends by locking him in to his
room until he shoved the finished sheets out under the door. But it was
probably not a bathroom back then.

I may be wrong but I think you can hear Wix messing up his accordion solo of
'Michelle' in the New World Tour live album and video ("Paul is live").

LOL. Is that a true story? I've never heard it. When and where did it
happen? How did Wix practice in the bathroom? It must have been a big
one. I wonder if the echoey ambiance of the bathroom helped him to get
it right.
