Hi, Everyone
I have had a Boss-1180 8 track recording studio that I bought in 2000
that got ruined because of all of the punch-ins that I do.
Have been told this machine is probably not
worth fixing, cause I ruined the hard drive
and the machine keeps quiting on me...by the time I get to recoring on
the 4th track.......
saying "Drive busy."
Here's my question to all the experts out there:
What other studios can I buy...(that I can do all the punch-ins that I
want)...without the machine
breaking down, and about what would I have to

I've been there!!! I always check my backups. Screw the computers!!! I can
replace them. (Women?...I won't go there!.. though they are replaceable
too... ;^) ) The 'files' are most important to me. Andy and Jed I can see on
TVLand...for me it's my Stop-Motion Films collection...irreplaceable!.. many
out of print, import, and limited issue. And some good books too!

What's your computer? I strongly suggest going software-based --
depending on your processing speed, RAM size and HD capacity, you'll
have far more flexibility recording to your computer. No 8-track limit,
punch-ins far simpler, editing far more efficient, effects at your
fingertips.
Tad and my CD, "Red Horizon" was all done via Digital Performer on our
respective Macs, on opposite coasts.

Hi, Don. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Thanks so much for your
help, and your response.
Regarding my Boss recording studio, I just reformated the hard drive.
It was easy.
They have a 24 hour help line Monday through Friday. Not many companies
have
that, and it doesn't cost a cent. :-)
