It only offends me in that it has NO reason to be posted here in this
group and I can't stand baseball!

Sorry, after reading the main post I saw no reason to read more.
Apology accepted.

This has been a rough century so far for the New York Yankees
Let's review...shall we.
2001, they lose the World Series to an expansion club
that hadn't even been around for ten years.
2003, they lose the World Series to an expansion club
that hadn't even been around for ten years.
Hmmm, getting to be a pattern here.
2004, the Yankees are on their way to the American League
Championship after posting a 3 games to none victory
over the Boston Red Sox...but wait...Boston comes back
and wins FOUR straight games over the Yankees, and
then the Red Sox go on to the World Series in four straight games.
Yankees sit home, and watch it on TV.
2006, after compiling the best winning record in the
American League, and breathing a sigh of relief when
they find out they will play Detroit instead of
Minnesota, the Yankees and pundits predict a Yankee
sweep of the Tigers in the Divisional playoffs...but
wait, after winning Game One, the Yankees lose the
next three games, posting an anemic run total, and now
must return to the Bronx to lick their wounds.
Another pattern for the Yankees (see 2004).
Ah yes, another sad year in the 21st Century for the hapless New York
Yankees.

Man! You'd never make it as a Chicago Cubs fan.

Me...

Don't worry Marcus, doubtless, some of the left-wing looney liberals
around here will demand a recount of the runs and they'll find The
Yankees actually did win The World Series in all of those years.

Please explain how leftists are at all interested in the outcomes of
baseball games...

Hmmm... well I know it's irrational, but I've always associated Yankee fans
with loud mouthed liberals. (I'm a liberal myself, but not very loud
mouthed about it until I open my mouth.)

OMG....Yankees liberal???? That's a good one.
The Yankees represent the conservative business establishment.
Bosox are the liberals, socialists, and left-wingers....God bless 'em

...marked it OT for ya, Marcus.
I highly doubt that John Henry, Tom Werner, Les Otten or Larry Luchino
think of themselves as socialists. Or Curt Schilling for that matter.
Second-wealthiest franchise in major league baseball, only to NYY. What
makes them any less of a "conservative business establishment"? When I
have to pay seven bucks for a beer, I'm pretty confident I'm dealing
with a capitalist.
And - I'll probably regret asking, but if you were so sure some people
would be offended, why post it in the first place?

Was it more on-topic or less potentially offensive to some in the 60's
