I still marvel at this one.

Listening through headphones trying to follow all the guitar bits. How
they threw it all together is just incredible. (with some sloppy riffs,
even)

After the "nowhere to go": those harmony vocals so DON'T sound like the
Beatles, it's really a different sound / texture. Anyone agree?

bongo...
I don't know, I've always considered those vocals almost definitive
of Beatles vocal excellence. Overall one of my favorite Beatles
passages anywhere.

Many years later, Paul and George did a wonderful job recreating
that sound in the bridge of Free As A Bird, IMO.

Nice thread, folks.

When I got into boots (vinyl of KUM BACK) back the 70's, I later got a
double disk set called "Sweet Apple Tracks."

A lot of Let it Be audio from the film track with all the beep markers,
but one gem was You Never Give Me Your Money. Does not sound like the

I need to throw that over to the new iPod

boot that breaks into a jam, but more like a Macca demo all the way
doing vocal, bass, piano and guitar - and that's it.

I kinda like it the most - any insight on this?

Double check that...

scoping the two L.R.E. King books, the same version was featured (only)
on Rarer Than Rare, No. 3 Abbey Road NW 8, Abbey Road Talks, One, Two,
Three, Four, Return To Abbey Road, Extended Sessions, Looking Back On
Abbey Road, Broad Road, and Rock 'N' Road

I remember a "Golden Slumbers" being on some boot - out of place - with
other Get Back outtakes...

Any ideas what Paul sings after "came true today" going into the
"1,2,3,4,5,6,7" part? I never checked the Complete Scores and my copy is
far far away.

Chris Jepson...
I always thought it sounded like "Yes you can get it, nah, nah, nah..."
but I have no idea if that's at all correct.

I always thought it was something like "yes it did, my-hi-hi-hi..."

Lastly, the guitar over the "1,2,3,4,5,6,7" part reminds me of Paul's
noodling on "Watching Rainbows". I know some mentioned John. Just
bubbling that one back up.

And that's basically it...

Manco...
Actually the famous riff is derived from Harrison/Clapton composition
"Badge" a few months earlier.
