Beatles in Apple's Itunes

Does anybody know if the Beatles are going to put their music online (for
sale) in Itunes? If I am not mistaken, there was an issue between the
Beatles and Apple Co. and that is why the Beatles would not sell their music
in Itunes. Do you know the details of this issue?

Yes. At least that's the current plan last I heard.

I don't think I've read where it's specifically said the songs will be
available through Itunes. Available for downloading, yes, but the word
Itunes is absent from Aspinall's statement on the subject. I'm guessing
they're negotiating with Itunes and its competitors. The Beatles
catalog would be a nice exclusive for somebody.

Looking into it, I see that whether iTunes would get the rights looks like a
matter of some confusion. I've seen it mentioned in several articles, such
as this one,
that iTunes would get the rights. And on the day the news was out CNBC kept
talking about it all day as big deal for iTunes and AAPL, specifically. But
then there are articles, like this one
decision has been made as to the online provider. I can't find any AAPL PRs
on it.
