Why did they speed up Real Love

ulysses...
I was listening to the original demo version of Real Love. It was
lovely and very good quality. Why in the world did Jeff Lynn speed
John's demo from the key of D to the key of E? The vocal is virtually
detroyed and makes John's voice sound way too high. I still like the
song, but not the way the vocal was managed (ditto with Free As a Bird,
which was butchered).

Cindy...
My guess is that they used different recordings of the same song. All
of them performed into a 70's type casette player. So they all had a
common denominator. Either that or it didn't sound commercial enough.
Maybe it was noise reduction. I have the cleaned up bare bones version
of just john singing with the others instruments and a little oh and

neptune...
I. too, would love to hear this version.
Please let us know if it could be put online. Thanks.

Cindy...
I've had it for at least 5 years. I think I got it off napster when it
was free. I had it converted from MP3 to analog for a cd which is
probably gone but I'll check my hard drive when I get home. It's a
nice version.

Jeff...
I''ve heard all the versions, and George isn't singing on any of them.
There is a version that
exists where Paul is singing along with John...so John's voice doesn't
sound so thin.

awwing from Paul and George in the Key of D. It sounds great and I
prefer it to the other. It doesn't have the added chorus and doesn't
really need it.

Cindy...
I forgot to add that it does have the added chorus music section but
only John tending to hum it out. Like he hadn't found the words yet.
