I don't know if this canadian band is well-known here, but no Beatles
fan can miss their new cd :

I just checked out their website that you posted
above. There is no song called "Fading into
obscurity." Are you sure you have the title of the
song right?

The song is on their new album (already released here, but maybe
not where you live) "Never Hear the End of It". Check out
amazon - search for "Sloan Never Hear the End of It".

What album is this song on?
|
76 minutes long, it has 30 tracks connecting to each other (just like
Abbey Road bside, but here it's from start to finish), lots of Beatles'
hooks, great power-pop and melodies. The album is called "Never hear
the end of it", and it's quite right : when it's finished you only wish
it never stops ! This is the best cd i've heard this year and one of
the best i've heard from a contemporary band.
If you don't know SLOAN, this album is an excellent starting point !
For those who've already heard of them, be sure that this new one is as
good as "Navy Blues" or "Between the bridges", probably even better
!!
If you're a Beatles and/or Badfinger fan, don't miss this album !!!

Thanks for the tip - I'll look out for it. (This band has a
very high profile north of the border, but how well known is it
down south?)
