Me...
Is anyone else looking forward to this with as big a yawn as I am?

Lookingglass...
Not me...I'm looking forward to it.

dave (...all the world's a birthday cake...)

Me...
I hope that you enjoy it. I'll probably buy too, more out of curiosity
than because it's something I'm going to listen to many times. I can't
help but think of Stars on 45 or The Beatles Movie Medley every time I
read about this show or its soundtrack.

weathermansays...
IMO they should have left the back catalog alone. No one needed "Let it
Be naked" in retrospect. They're cheapening their legacy. If anyone's
catalog does not need to be messed with its the Beatles. At least the
Stones have left well enough alone..for now.

Lookingglass...
None of the original Beatle recordings have changed. There are just some
'mutations'. The originals are there for you to listen to. You don't like
LET IT BE NAKED...?...listen to the Spector version. Simple.

You want to keep in mind that George Martin assembled this 'new' sonic
collage...he would not do anything to jeopardize his and the Beatles legacy.

I think it is going to be astounding...IMHO. I can't wait...but I will have
to.

dave (...it's all too much...)

weathermansays...
The problem is that future generations will have this as an option and
can opt for this instead of the originals. Add that to the fact that
neither John nor George are around to approve of George Martin
tampering with their music, and I see this as a problem. Had the whole
band been behind it, I'd at least consider this an artistic decision --
albiet one I didn't agree with. Instead, we get Paul and George Martin
revising and adding to the Beatle legacy, and IMO degrading it.

Lookingglass...
We can opt for this right now. The originals will always be with us. And to
'which' originals do you refer to? The original mixes...mono and stereo? Or
the 'remastered' originals that many fans clamor for? If they are
remastered, are they 'original'? John and George are not here to approve of
any remastering either. Some folk complain about the 'naked' LET IT
BE...what about the fact that McCartney did not like the 'Spectorized'
version?

As a fan, I welcome them all. I won't force them on anyone who doesn't want
to listen to them.

dave (...and our friends are all aboard...)

DanKaye...
I am looking forward to it, but I'm not sure once I get it I will be
all that thrilled with it.

Having heard the "mash up" at "Love" in Vegas, I do agree with you,
that this probably won't be something that will be equivalent to the
greatness of other Beatles albums, simply because I doubt the "mash
up" concept will lend itself to many listenings.

IF they include some whole songs in 5.1, like maybe the new version of
While My Guitar and some others, then it will be worth having and I
may have to at least burn those whole song tracks onto a seperate cd
for listening. But the mash-up stuff will probably grow old fast; I'm
just guessing. I hope I'm wrong, but this is my intuition about it.
