The 10 best years for rock music was 1966-1975 when most of the classic
rock albums were made. Which albums (by rock bands - excluding solo
artists like Dylan, Bowie, Hendrix, Springsteen, Young etc) do you
think were the best for these years
These are my choices.
1966 - Revolver
1967 - Piper At the Gates of Dawn
1968 - Beggars Banquet
1969 - Led Zeppelin II
1970 - Led Zeppelin III
1971 - Led Zeppelin IV

I would certainly agree with you until 1970. There's no way Let It Be
was a great album. And in 1971, there was Who's Next, which blows away
anything Zep ever did (not to mention anything The Beatles ever did
solo). What about the Looking Glass (Brandy -- You're a Fine Girl)?

It's a good album, though I'd rate POB, and maybe Imagine and Band On The
Run over it. Maybe Ringo, too. Taken track by track, that's a really strong
album.
For 1971 albums, I'd put Electric Warrior over Who's Next.

I can't remotely imagine the criteria to reach that verdict.

[look of incredulous disbelief]
Well, congratulations on being the one person who thinks so, who
doesn't still wear glittered eyeshadow.
