Lennon on Tom Snyder show 1975

I got it from YouTube - a truly great interview.

Very funny moments too. Especially when John talks about how celebrities
like him are viewed upon as god-like creatures among some people. He
quotes them thinking - "Do they go to the bathroom? Do they eat?".
Snyder then comes in and interrupts, with perfect timing, asking "Do you??"

Everyone knows that John Lennon didn't go to the bathroom. He was a
Beatle.

Yeah, he had people to do that for him.

That and the Old Grey Whistle Stop are two of my favorite interviews.
Here's a short clip of one from the same era. He tries some phrases in
French and they've translated it to Dutch, but it is still
understandable. Also sings a bit of that Voulez- vous couchez avec moi
ce soir song.

It was 1974, not 1976 as the clip indicates.

I'm guessing 'cuz it was for French media and it was the only
then-current song in French he knew?

Oh, that's a very good thought. I forgot it was for the French media.

Me, I was thinking to myself "Why is John singing a song that means '
would you like to sleep with me tonight?'" I guess you can see where
my mind is.

Now that you stressed this was for the French media, to me it makes the
situation even funnier . . . . I mean of all the things for John to
tell the French audience!! IN essence, he doesn't know much French,
but he can sing a song inviting people to sleep with him. Funny!

I wish he recorded that song . . . . he was doing a great version from
the little we can see.

how did you search for it? I tried john lennon tom snyder, etc and did
not find it.
