I hope that they can work things out, but if not, I hope that we hear
about Paul being spotted with an endless stream of 20 year old babes
and NOT marrying any of them.

It would go a long way in re-establishing his cool credibility factor
and it's what he deserves anyway.

I see it the opposite way. I felt that he was cool for wanting to
settle down again. Seeing him with an endless stream of 20-year-old
babes would make me believe that he's shallow, which I wouldn't see as
being very cool at all.

I saw his settling down so quickly as a desperate move by a lonely man
who didnt know how to live alone after 30 years.
I have never warmed up to Heather and after the seal fiasco I couldnt
stand the sight of her.
He is better off with memories of Linda.

I don't know about the endless stream, etc., that would make him look
even sillier, BUT, it would be good for him to be seen as more
independent and self-sufficient for a good while. Terrible to say, but
Paul's marriage troubles could end up being a good thing for his fans
if it gives him both financial motivation, and emotional/mental fuel,
to do lots of work and make lots of good edgy music live and in the
studio. Wouldn't it be interesting for Paul to next time take his
band, or make a new band, and tour around without a wife in tow, first
time he'd have done that since '66....something a little less
wholesome, maybe get into a little trouble! That would be good for his
music and his image and credibility. As it is these circumstances
should get him a good shot of sympathy from most observers....it's
pretty clear that what's happened between him and Heather, probably is
not his fault.
