I watched A Hard Days Night the other day and noticed that the name "The
Beatles" is not spoken by anyone in the cast during the movie. Wasn't sure,
so I watched the movie again this afternoon and not once is the name "The
Beatles" spoken during the movie.

It's called a plot device.

That is an interesting and curious bit of trivia... I wonder if it was
omitted on purpose???

What about their theme song "Hey, Hey, We're The Beatles"? Doesn't that
count?

That's true. And I believe that point is addressed in one of the features on
the bonus disc. I don't remember exactly what was said, who said it, or
which feature -- but I'm fairly certain it was addressed in terms of it
being a conscious decision to not mention the group though they mention the
individual names.

It does say, "The Beatles" on Ringo's drum, doesn't it?

Yes, that's right... I had forgotten about the others. I like the idea
that the band's name was never verbally mentioned.
This movie truly is a form of art. For a film that they tried to put
out quickly because they thought that the Beatles' popularity might die
down by the time is was released, they still took a lot of care into
making it something unique.

I agree on the form of art, and most likely inspired what has evolved into
music videos.
