And have Paul come back and play Her Majesty after the end credits roll!

There was supposedly 28 hours or so of footage shot for the Let it Be
film. Does it all still exist? If so why couldn't they release an
expanded version? A Let it Be mini-series so to speak.

Jeez, it's depressing and painful enough to watch a few *minutes* of
that footage. Twenty-eight hours of it might actually *kill* people.

I agree. However, wouldn't be much better to use that footage in a
completely different way, bring some competent film director and renew
the whole thing? Maybe by editing, adding shorter scenes, transforming
this "old" film into a "new" and modern one... plus color restoration
and everything that is nowadays available! The 28 hours film could
become 2 *better* hours than the ones that were officially released on
the LIB film...
If they did LIBN to "correct" the original LIB and give us the album
the way it should have been in the first place, why not do the same to
the LIB film? Or is it just hopeless?

That's a great idea. Perhaps the footage could be salvaged. It's a shame
that the film as it is, is such a downer. It does document the 'times' of
the Beatles, but I think that negativity could be downplayed or somehow
refocused...though not denied. To sit and watch the film is a 'trial'.

I agree. Though when it came out, I could watch it over and over, just
because it was the Beatles.
I felt that way again when I saw it in early 1981.
Now, it's depressing. I wonder if it's an age thing.
