I just wondered if the songs on the One cd sound better than the same
songs on earlier released cd's. Are they remastered, like the remastered
songs on the latest Yellow Submarine release? I never bothered to listen

The Yellow Sub "Songtrack" featured *remixed* songs.

to the cd but if they sound REALLY better I might just do that...!

A bit better. YS was remixed and remastered. Big difference. There is
also a 5.1 mix on the movie DVD, the only true 5.1 mixes in the Beatle
catalog I'm aware of.

Add the occasionall remixes (Leave My Kitten Alone) and 5.1 mixes in
the Anthology DVDs.

Well...OK. Time to clarify.
The YS DVD has the only true 5.1 mixes from the original catalog
before they broke up that were done from scratch from the original multi
track masters that I'm aware of. Are any of the songs on the Anthology
DVD done that way? I did some groups searching and some have said
a few songs were done that way. Which ones? Real Love and Free as a
Bird? Any others? Any from the original catalog before they broke up?

Yes, just about every studio song on Anthology was remixed to 5.1 for
the dvds...

I can't give you specifics, because I haven't been keeping track, but
there's an entire cottage industry of the 5.1 Anthology mixes that have
been made available on boots.

I think they were, but the whole CD sounded pretty bad to me.

they were remastered.
most noticeable is the fix on day tripper...
after the line "tried to please her"...the guitar dropout is fixed.
certainly the original lp's sounded better than the one lp on vinyl.
on the other hand ,many tracks on one have had some editing treatment
to fix problems like day tripper, or on the ballad of John and yoko,
you get the last drum roll missing on some earlier versions.
