OT: losing a pet

I lost my beautiful 24-year old black cat today. She was wonderful.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I have two dogs and three cats. Two of my
cats are almost twelve.

I don't know how many of you understand, but like John said: it's really
hard...sometimes I feel like going down.

Condolances - a pet, especially one of such long-standing, is a
close friend, and its loss can be a real blow. Many of us have
been there and so can understand your feelings. You will remember
her fondly, even as the years go by.

rags is absolutely correct. My condolences to you, Abe. My late cat Saki
was an important part of my life; she almost made it to nineteen years. But
her name lives on.

ObBeatles: Of all the Fabs, John had the greatest affection for cats. I'm
sure that's proof of something.

When my 22 year old cat Mug died, several years ago, I posted the
following note to rmbm - it started a small thread, but curiously,
no one noticed the hidden message (look at the first character of
each sentence; each paragraph gives a word - the hint was given in
the last sentence, BTW: "preliminaries", "initially"). I'll repost
it today in honour of your departed friend.

I am so sorry! I lost my cats of 17 years and 19 years not too long
ago, I couldnt sleep for a week after the last loss. I still look for
them or think I hear them at night.

I'm really sorry that you lost your friend. Believe me when I say I know
how you feel. Consider that I've owned cats my entire life and I have
never had one live that long (though I did have one live to be 18 years
old). You were blessed and your friend will alwayz be with you.
