rforman61...
Hey guess what, I won a radio station call-in contest this afternoon on
B-103 here in Long Island, was the 27th caller, actually it wasn't what
I thought it was, I thought it was for a pair of tickets to this
month's Stones concert at Giants Stadium (way too broke now to be able

abby again...
Hope you win them!

I won tickets to see McCartney in Atlanta back in '89 or '90 from a radio
station. I had to guess the last two digits of the DJ's Visa card. The
number just rolled out when they answered the phone - I didn't even say the
numbers I had intended to use. It must have been meant to be.

to buy my own this time around!), but it turns out I'm just "qualified"
to win them, that is, they will pick a winner out of all the contest
winners. In the meantime, I did win a pair of tickets to see the Fab
Faux at Queens college in October, pretty cool, I have heard plenty
about how amazing they are, I hope they do "Revolution 9" that night.

I saw the Faux last year and enjoyed it a whole lot. Good band having a
lot of fun, sometimes imitating the arrangements, other times adding
their own spin. Definitely worth it.

Danny Caccavo...
I saw them 2 or 3 times back about 4 years ago. They love what they do,
and it shows. Vocally they don't "soundalike" but that's ok - they do
cool things like doubling their voices (4 of them sing "No Reply" to
simulate John and Paul doubled, for instance).

Well worth seeing!

I also won a copy of the Stones' recently re-released "Jump Back /
Greatest Hits '71 - '93" or some such, which from everything I can see
(and I am a huge Stones fan) is completely worthless, I have all the
songs on other albums anyway and worse, they are the abbreviated
"single" versions of 'em, ugh!

frank megaweege...
I think the Stones have released more of these worthless hits
compilations than any band in existence. It's hard to blame them if it
keeps the cash rolling in, but their cluttered catalogue really bugs
the collector part of me.

terra...
Likely that's more 'anything for a buck Klein ABKCO than the Stones,
although they certainly profit (and I'm sure Bill Wyman could use a pound or
two nowadays).

copperhead365...
I'm more interested in why anyone would want to hear Revolution #9
performed live.

rforman61...
You're kidding, right?....I mean, it's something I've never seen done
before and I would love to see how they go about it....guess I'm just
kind of, you know, intrigued and curious. I heard them do "Tomorrow
Never Knows" a year or two ago on the radio, think it was the Howard
Stern show, and talk about how they do this stuff, their dedication to
reproducing the records completely and accurately....fascinating stuff
to me.

Just thought I'd share, wish me luck in the drawing!

Bip Bop...
Congratulations, Rich! Good luck!

It couldn't happen to a nicer guy!

I'm going to see them next week!
I can hardly wait!

TAR...
Hey, good luck, rich! Do you have any idea what the odds of winning the
tickets are? When do they pick the winner?

We once won a chance to win a new car through some neighborhood
newspaper contest. A group of us had to choose the key that started the
car, picking it out of a jar. I think the winner must have been the
third person to try, so we didn't even get the chance. Still we were
thrilled beyond belief to walk away with a t-shirt and a Sony Walkman.

fishandchipp...
should have knocked him in the head and stole it
