From VOCM.com He gets invited to a meeting with the Canadian Prime
Minister to discuss the seal hunt and declines. Then why the media circus
last week??

I doubt very much if article below is even partly correct, i.e. given the
fact the Prime Minister Stephen Harper has a minority government, why would
even involve himself with the debate?? I would think Harper wants to stay
clear of much controversy in the early days, weeks and months of his new
minority government. The McCartneys did, after all, try to reach him four
times when they were here in Canada only to be turned down.

And its interesting that the spokesperson for Hearn's office did not "name"
or "identify" the HSUS representative.

Singer Not Returning
March 7, 2006

It doesn't look as though Sir Paul McCartney will be making another visit
to the province. Federal Fisheries Minister Loyola Hearn invited the former
Beatle to Newfoundland and Labrador for a meeting with Prime Minister
Stephen Harper to discuss the seal hunt. A spokesperson for Hearn says the
Humane Society of the United States reports that Sir Paul politely indicated
that he didn't want to speak to them.

Perhaps Paul feels like he's already said what he wanted to say. Some
people don't like to keep repeating themselves.
