Manco...
Bridge over Troubled Water or Let it Be?

abe slaney...
Probably not. Here's the quote from the 1980 Playboy interviews where
they are going over song by song - I don't think he was any more aware
of the chronology than I was:

JOHN: "That's Paul... I think it was inspired by 'Bridge Over Troubled
Water.' That's my feeling, although I have nothing to go on. I know he
wanted to write a 'Bridge Over Troubled Water.'"

homesick...
He also said the same thing when LIB was released in 1970

abe slaney...
Didn't Lennon say that "Let it Be" was Paul's attempt at writing a
"Bridge Over Troubled Water?" I think the original (BOTW) is a vastly
better song.

Slip Kid...
I like the following.

Jools Holland on 'Dr. Jazz'
'Love Reign O'er Me' "Rabbit"
'Loving Cup' and a couple others on Exile (Dr. John, Preston, "Stew")
'Dixie Flyer' & many more by Randy
'Down To You' Joni
Madman Across The Water and Tumbleweed Connection have nice of piano
openings
Fagan had several great openings on Steely Dan tunes
Nilsson?
Christine McVie opened some Fleetwood Mac tune & I can hum a few bars.

But, the best?

Or your favorite?
