Yes, but the majority of all these posts are written by 10 people, or
thereabouts ;-)
That being said, I think they will last as a mainstream popular phenomenon
for a long, long time.
I play in a lot of different contexts, some with origanal material, others
doing covers, albeit very freely interpreted covers. In my observation you
get a surprising amounts of requests for beatlessongs, also from people in
the 15-25 years bracket.
There's something universal about The Beatles, music, lyrics and
personalitywise, that will not just go out of style. And there's something
for everyone, in the sense that the pop 'n danceoriented can relate to,
mostly, the early material, and the more thoughtfull will, again mostly, go
for the later stuff. This is of course extremely simplified for brevitys
sake, but I'm shure you'll catch my drift.

But as someone wrote upthread, it will never be Beatlemania again like
waybackwhen.

I don't think it will ever mean quite as much to those who weren't there
to watch it all unfold. I do, however, believe that future generations
will still be able to appreciate what they brought to the world...
although I highly doubt that it would ever again come close to the
Beatlemania of the 1960s.
