Have you seen "Paberback Believer"? A great mix of Monkees and Beatles.
Very well done. It's here:

"Clarksville" is a classic pop single, it needs no one to apologize for
it. Wonderfully played with multiple guitar parts, it was indeed
inspired by "PW" according to it's composers.

If Paperback Writer had been a Monkee hit I personally believe that it
would have engraved it into stone that the Monkees were just a one hit
wonder. If Last Train to Clarksville had been a Beatles song it would
have just been another song in their catalog that wouldn't have been a
hit. It would have been just another song for people to say "I do hate
that Last Train to Clarksville dreadfully!" You must say that quote in
the worst British accent you can do.

Not cheezey enough. Clarksville was cute and it rocked (so slightly)
but it did posess a slight hint of cheeze. A cheeze of the American
varity. Just what the TV producers ordered... My kid brother liked it
fine, though...
