For the life of me I just can't figure it out but it reminds me of
clips of Joe Namath and shag carpet of lime green etc. Any other
notorious groups that force you back to the "stones of your mind." I'll
get on with my current life and check back to post from time to time....

Because their fine music left an impression on you when you first heard
it.

I hope you're not implying this as a bad thing; me? I love shag
carpet/wood panel/polyester/day-glo flashbacks!
Anyway, Stereolab recalls that late 60s sound with the Farfisas and
Letitia Sadler's Nicoesque vocals.
But the groups I always associate with (cue the jingle) "ALLLL
OLDIEEEEESSS"
Tommy James & The Shondells
Classics Four
Any Motown Group prior to the move to LA
The Monkees SOMETIMES: They were a more complex band than people give
them credit for. True, they were a "prefab" TV-show group but their
work still stands the test of time unlike some of the un-prefab bands
at that time and even today. They did have a lot of tunes that sound
60s-ish; e.g. Cuddly Toy, Saturday's Child, I'm A Believer. But others
seemed timeless or even ahead of its time; e.g. Words, Love Is Only
Sleeping, Shades of Gray, Sometime In The Morning, Goin' Down.

It might have somethng to do with the fact that the music was recorded
40 years ago.
Anyone else wanna theorize on this?
