O.T. I Just Saw A Ghost

Are these things for real, it sure looked like it. I'm alone in my
three story 1868 house and I hear someone upstairs. I look up the
staircase and shout "who's there". Suddenly , I see a figure coming
down the 2nd floor hallway and climbing the stairs to the 3rd floor. I
rush up the stairs and no one is there. Checked every room. It must
have been a ghost. This is for real. Has this happened to anyone else?

You're not alone. I've had similar experiences.

I've also heard the sounds of footsteps coming up to the front door,
and the doorbell ringing, only to discover no one there.

I am generally a skeptic and I don't have the psychic awareness of a
gnat, so I have little to report in this area. Yet when we first moved
into this house 20 years ago my son was 9 months old, and for the first
few years we would hear a toddler's footsteps running down the hallway at
6-6:30a many mornings, so we'd get up (since he was too young be up
alone) and he was always in bed, as was his sister. It wasn't scary,
more odd, and after he grew older the sounds never came back. Maybe
being stressed, paranoid parents we just imagined we heard him (laying
half asleep and half awake)? Except for both of us to 'hear' it
repeatedly for a span of years seems to indicate otherwise.

No point to the story, really. I guess just that none of us know all the
answers, and there are many stragne things that occur in this world of
ours we'll never be able to explain.

I've had experiences like that on the phone. The phone would ring, but
there would be noone on the other end.

I've experienced that - and something even spookier. Sometimes there's
a weird, disembodied voice on the other end, who won't respond to
anything I say. Sometimes these ghostly voices seem to be talking
about political issues.

It must be that these unseen beings from beyond love me so much that
they want to share their wisdom on current events with me.

Thought I saw a ghost once, in the middle of the night. Turned out to
be my girlfriend on the way back from the loo.
