Jeff...
The song is: "I want you, I need you, I Love you.

I don't know the names of chords, so I will have to just go by which
frets I am on, and I'm hoping someone can explain it to me..the same
way back.

Ok, the way that I have it, is...I am on the first fret..with my
pointer finger on the first string, on the second fret, my middle
finger is on the third string, and on the third fret, my third finger
is on the second string. Then, I slide up to the third fret..for the
second chord, which has my fingers in the same
position as the first chord. Does this sound right? It doesn't to
me..when I play the chords to the recording. It sounds close though.
Thanks in advance to everyone who responds. It's just a boring
Sunday..so I thought I would ask.

abe slaney...
Jeff - this is it:

1st chord (F dim):

1st string, 1st fret (use your middle finger)
2nd string, leave open
3rd string, 1st fret (use your index finger)

2nd chord (G6):
1st string, 3rd fret (index finger)
2nd string, 5th fret (use your ring finger)
3rd string, 4th fret (middle finger)

next chord (C) (you didn't ask about)
1st string, open
2nd string, 1st fret (index finger)
3rd string, open

Eric Ramon...
try this!

Jeff...
Thanks so much for your help Eric..but I have to get the answers..the
way my post read..
like what fret I am on..and what fingers are on what fret. I don't know
the names of most chords..and not these first two chords for sure.

Eric Ramon...
What you're playing is Dm followed by Em. If it sounds like they're not
minor chords then you're hearing them as F6 and then G6. Good luck!

Jeff...
Eric, I honestly don't know a DM followed by EM..or an F6 from a G6.
Like I said in my original post..I don't know the names of chords..or I
wouldn't have presented my questions
the way that I did. Thanks anyway.

Bernie Woodham...
I understand the minor part, but why F6 and G6?

BlackMonk...
You've got the root on the first string, the third on the third string, and
the sixth on the second string.

Jeff...
the first chord according to what you wrote sounds right...but the
second chord doesn't,
if I am supposed to be just sliding up to the third fret for the second
chord?

Eric Ramon...
for the second chord try putting one finger across the first three
strings at the third fret. Does that sound anything like what you'd
expect?

Jeff...
No, Eric. I've tried that and it's not even close. My way of doing it
on the second chord sounds much better. In fact..it sounds right to my
ears..and it's not correct..F it.
LOL. Have a great evening..and thanks for your suggestions. I
appreciate it.
It could be a D minor 100th...and that's fine with me tonight. LOL
