I saw Vanilla Fudge last night in Connecticut. Fabulous band. They
would have been far more important had they been able to write their
own material. Carmine Appice is perhaps the most influential member of
the band, having served as an inspiration for that whole school of
'80's hair band "big kit" drummers.
Terrific, even after all these years. All four original members were
there. FYI, I showed my AARP card, but there was no discount.

Always loved that band. Where in CT did you see them?
I grew up in CT, and they played there in 1967 or 1968 close to my home
town, but by the time I learned about it, the concert had all ready
happened.

New Haven. My home town. Toad's Place.

New Haven...I know it well. I grew up about an hour to the north of
you, Danbury. My wife comes from the shore area near New Haven. I saw
a lot of concerts at the Yale Bowl and NH Coliseum in the early 70s.
Saw Neil Young at the latter, and Clapton at the Yale Bowl on his
Oceanside Blvd tour (1974). Do they still have concerts at the bowl?
Whatever happened to WPLR?
