Paul, a most excellent and totally inventive bassist. Not to
mention songwriter. Plus he could scream his ass off, sing
beautiful ballads, and belt out a Meaty and heavy R&B style.
Ringo, a drummer extraordinaire, and perhaps the best possible
drummer for such an inventive, radical band. He could push 'em
into total excitement, in the early days, and paint like all kinds
of artists on the drums in the medium and later days. So many of
his fills and rhythms are so memorable, and perfect. The feel in
Ringo' playing runs very deep, indeed.
George, a supremely tasteful guitar player, not to mention a real
rockin' rockabilly guitar player, with his own special thing. And
he could write some great songs and sing.
John, probably the biggest rock and roll legend of all time, with
the possible exception of Elvis and Dylan. And a *totally* raucous
musician and a songwriting ubermadman.
Above all, these guys had courage. Their experimental nature
served them well.
